Wireless broadband is a special package which allows customers to go wireless within or around their premises. This type of connection provides more reliability, faster access, and more mobility. Customers can share their broadband connection using multiple computers, game consoles and mobile phones to form their own wireless network.

Setting up a wireless network is possible by installing a router between the modem and the computer. But it’s better to subscribe for a wireless broadband package if unsure of how it works and to avoid confusion later. A wireless router helps to split a broadband connection to multiple and provides access both by wire and wireless. A computer needs an inbuilt or an external wireless card to access the wireless router. So before subscribing for a wireless broadband service, customers have to check to see if their computer or notebook has a wireless card installed in it.

Wireless Internet has a range of access, which is vulnerable to many obstacles like thick walls, trees, and dead spots. To avoid these issues customers have to make sure that the wireless router is placed in a tall and centralized location of the house. Customers can also use large aerials and wireless access point to boos the range of access. To avoid trouble customers can connect their computers using the Ethernet cable and use only the notebooks for wireless access. If its just one computer, they have to make sure of having an Ethernet cable as a stand by.

There might be a question of security in using a wireless network. But it’s actually safe to use a wireless network if all the security procedures are followed. Wireless connections follow 2 types of security features which are WEP and WAP. The difference between both the systems is the type and level of encryption and of the both WAP is more secured and latest. Also wireless routers will have an inbuilt firewall that can protect access of your network by hackers. In spite of all this customers can also configure their routers to provide or block access to specific computers using the MAC address of the respective computers.

Customers unaware of how to use a wireless connection can try using the millions of hot spots available across the country using their notebooks. But do not compare the speed of the hot spot to an actual wireless broadband connection, because it can vary between the service providers. There are a number of broadband providers who offer a bundle package for wireless connection that can save a lot of money.

My first impressions of the Perimetec website are that this site is professional, attractive, and down-right straight-to-the-point. I immediately knew what this site was about and what it had to offer, and above all, I wanted to stay on the site and read more about their products.

If you need Email Spam Protection, this site and company are worth a visit. Their email protection service costs only $2.50 a month which is a very impressive price.

Their products include Barracuda Spam Firewall, Barracuda Web Filter, Barracuda IM Firewall, Barracuda Load Balancer, Barracuda Message Archiver, and Barracuda Web Application Controllers.

Of the Barracuda Spam Firewall, Perimetec say “Equipped with twelve layers of defensive protection, The Barracuda Spam Firewall provides industry-leading anti spam security. It incorporates both hardware and software solutions and is specifically designed to arm your email server against viruses, spam, phishing, spoofing and spyware attacks.”

Impressive.

Perimetec services include the Email Spam Blocker – protect your mailbox from $2.50 using their Silver, Gold or Platinum packages. They also offer a webmail solution if your company doesn’t host its own email.

Looking at the recognisable logo’s that this company has protected, it’s clear that this is a reputable and professional company to choose if you need to protect your email from spam. Nintendo, Comcast, Fedex to name but a few.

First Impressions of the Site
One of the things I like about browsing websites is when a site has a great design and is unique you can spend a good 10 minutes in awe looking at it, kindof wishing you’d come up with a great design like that. This is the first thing that struck me when I visited this site. Their web design portfolio is also something to be proud of.

Services
NVI have a great selection of services including E-Marketing, SEO & SEM, Web Design, E-Commerce, Content Management, Web Hosting, and Branding.

E-Marketing
NVI will create an E-Marketing plan for your website that will get you on the map. They will discuss and analyze your online goals with you to know what you’re aiming for. From this they will create innovative ways to make your company stand out from your competitors. An E-Marketing plan is must-have when it comes to getting your website noticed.

SEO & SEM
SEO & SEM (Search Engine Optimisation & Search Engine Marketing) should come hand in hand with E-Marketing. A website needs good SEO implemented into it to ever be found in the search engines. NVI offer a detailed step-by-step solution which they will implement into your website to make sure your site has good rankings in all the search engines.

Web Design
If you’re a company offering Web Design you must have a great design for your site to ever pull it off – and NVI do just that. NVI analyze key elements of what you want your website to do and who the target audience are before starting on any design. When they do start creating a design they design it to keep it SEO friendly and keep in with Accessibility standards.

E-Commerce
Usually all E-Commerce websites have the same sort of look and useability, but NVI knows that a generic E-Commerce site isn’t going to generate you any sales, so they up the ante on their designs to make your E-Commerce stand out from all the rest. With this E-Commerce solution comes a Content Management System which you can use to add content to pages, and add products you wish to sell.

Web Hosting
NVI offer secure web hosting which can host from the very basic of websites to the most advanced of websites. Their web hosting uses high quality bandwidth which is both fast and reliable, and they keep a good eye on your bandwidth use so they can give you the right price for your needs.

Branding
A corporate identidy needs branding, and if you don’t have one NVI can create a fantastic range of branding for your company including a Logo, Corporate stationery, Web Banners, Brochures etc. With the best logo’s you can always remember the company name just by looking at it – and NVI can create a logo for your company that will do just that.

Alot of bloggers write about Technorati and while I’m not familiar with the process and its benefits, I’ve become aware that to signup to sites such as Review Me I have to have a good Technorati ranking.

So, last night I decided to sign up to Technorati to see what the fuss is all about and to see if I can do anything to improve my ranking.

In the whole half an hour of signing up I couldn’t actually complete the process. I filled in the register page and received an email with the confirmation link and clicked on that link – but apparantly the confirmation code was incorrect.

It took me three times before it realised that the code was infact, correct.

So then I start the process of claiming my blog. I filled in the first page but when I clicked submit it send me to the register page as if I were a new user.

I tried logging in with the username and password I’d just registered with but apparantly my password was wrong, so I did the whole “forgotten my password” and they sent me another email with a confirmation link. So I clicked the link and sent me back to the register page!

At this point I was getting annoyed, so I filled in the “forgotten my username” to see if that made a difference, to which I got another email and another confirmation link. I clicked the link and lo and behold – I got a page that told me the username I entered doesn’t exsist!

At this point I decided to try registering again with the username I’d registered with earlier, you know, the one that doesn’t exsist? Well, it wouldn’t let me register because apparantly that username does already exsist!

After that I ended up switching my computer off and now it’s 8am the next morning and I’m trying again, and yay! It’s let me login, and it’s letting me start the claim on my blog. Fingers crossed it works this time!

Apparantly, I have to post a link to my profile in a new post so Technorati knows it’s really me registering, so here it is: Technorati Profile – I’ll be sure to post again about Technorati to let you know if I do actually get any benefit out of it.

At Emz Design one of my goals is to write informative posts about web design, and web design help in general. I have added a widget to the site that allows you to submit suggestions of what I should write about.

For example, if you’re having problems with a certain aspect of HTML you can use this widget to tell me to write an article about it.

The widget is by Skribit which you can see on the right hand side of the site. To submit a suggestion all you need to do is click on the text “Need Web Design Help? Suggest a topic for me to write about in my next article!”. This will generate a form for you type in your suggestion.

All you need to do is type in your suggestion and click submit. You don’t have to have an account with Skribit to do this so there’s no registration forms for you to fill in. Just type in your suggestion, click submit and it’s done!

A great thing about this is when a suggestion has been made, a Vote button is added to it so people can Vote for your suggestion as well. Obviously the suggestions with the most Votes I will concentrate on first, but all suggestions will get an article dedicated to it.

It doesn’t even have to be web design help, you can suggest anything web related for me to write about!

So don’t be shy! Submit a suggestion for me today!

After reading a post at Killer Income offering free advertising in return of a few tiny things, I thought I’d damn right steal his idea and do it myself. Thanks for the inspiration, Bill!

Basically I am offering a free 125×125 banner on the right hand side that is site-wide to six people on a first come first served basis (depending on the content of the site of course*). All I ask in return is a couple of little things to help me and my little site.

The home page of this site does have a PR2 so it will benefit you, although obviously not as much as a PR8 site would but hey, every little helps, right?

So all I ask is this:

1. Subscribe to my RSS Feed.

2. Leave at least two comments on my site. All comment links are free of the no-follow attribute so you will gain something from that too.

3. A little link back to this site would be appreciated. It doesn’t have to be site-wide or too obvious, just one link back will do with the title of “Web Design Blog”.

When all those things have been done send me an email via my contact form with your URL and link to your 125×125 banner. I will upload this image to my server and add it to the site.

It’s that simple!

I’m not sure how long your adverts will be on the site but I can say they’ll be on the site for at least three months. After that I will email you and let you know what I’ve decided.

If you have any questions at all about this offer please feel free to contact me!

*Sites that are porn/adult related, racist, full of hate etc. etc. will not be considered for this offer. Thank you.

Marc Galeazzi recently bought the MMO Blog One Mans Goal from Bryan Clarke for a huge $10k. This sale caused alot of controversy and negativity, which resulted in claims of Marc being scammed by Bryan. I became intrigued by why Marc bought the Blog in the first place, and was fascinated by his enthusiasm.

Being a full time Realtor and part time Bar tender it’s obvious that Marc is a hard worker and isn’t afraid of any challenges. Marc very kindly agreed to let me interview him regarding the sale of One Mans Goal, the controversy that followed, and his future plans for the site.

——————————————————————————————————

You recently bought One Mans Goal for $10k. Do you think you’ve paid a good price for it?

Yes I do. First off, I was just looking around and not taking any action. By buying this blog I’m responsible to all of the viewers. I have to keep making posts and being innovative or I’ll lose my readership and money. With that in mind, I’ve already had a few advertisers pay for their next month of advertising and I’m adding affiliate programs now. Most of the affiliate links on the site still direct to Bryan because I haven’t had a chance to get to them. My number one concern is keeping the readers happy during the transition. I know if I can keep growing the reader base and I’m honest to them the money will follow.

There’s been a lot of negativity surrounding this issue, specifically claims that Bryan scammed you. What are your thoughts on this?

I don’t feel scammed at all and I’m still happy with my decision. As far as the negativity goes, I’m cool with it. The controversy gave me a ton of visitors and my RSS subscriber count is up 17 readers. I know some of them are staying around to watch me fail but that’s cool because when they check back and I’m killing it they will continue to stick around.

Plus, I’m going to be placing some ads on other sites over the next couple of months and people will see the banner I’m having developed and they’ll click to check my progress remembering the controversy.

What inspired you to purchase One Mans Goal? And where do you plan on taking it?

I was looking to purchase content sites from Sitepoint, when I came across this auction. I liked the style of the site; I liked how many readers there were and I felt that there was an underserved market of people who like “make money online” content but would prefer videos.

I plan on documenting my journey in the “make money online” arena and sharing and discussing interesting things I learn along the way.

Also, there is plenty of expert sites out there but not too many addressing motivation. I just want to tell people how I’m taking action, suggest they follow it and watch and wait for the results.

A blog of this nature needs to be good-looking, and although I like it, you can’t please everyone. Are there any plans to change the look of One Mans Goal to attract more visitors?

Nope, I like the theme and I’ll stick with it until there is a new innovation in blog themes. Right now I’m focusing on content and not worrying about looks. I haven’t even changed some of the affiliate links yet. In my mind, my number one priority is to take care of the people following the blog now. Once I’ve stabilized the blog I will focus on expanding the blog and looks and stuff like that.

Are there anymore sites in the pipeline or any that you’d like to create in the future?

Yes, I’m going to be starting a new site in the next month that I think everyone will like, also I’m going to be developing some content sites. Other than that, I’ll be buying content sites and forums in Sitepoint this summer when I sell a few houses. (I’m a Realtor).

Where do you see yourself and the site in 6 months time? Do you have any set targets you’d like to hit?

In 6 months I hope to be paying my bills with income from websites both purchased and developed. This will allow me to quit my night job as a bartender and still allow me to invest my Real Estate income.

Not yet, the first thing I want to see is the numbers stabilize and then make projections from there. I want to see how many people stay with me and run a couple affiliate programs to come up with a baseline.

Do you have any advice for young blog / MMO entrepreneurs like yourself?

Go out and start getting some. It doesn’t matter if you make a mistake at first. Take action, experiment and don’t stop learning. This industry isn’t going anywhere. I’m 24, in ten years I’ll have tons of experience and still only be 34. Don’t get involved in “get rich quick stuff”. Just keep plugging away and building your brand.

Oh yeah, don’t quit.

And finally, are you going to prove the negative people wrong and keep One Mans Goal going strong and potentially improve it?

Most defiantly, all of their negativity just fueled my fire. If you want to see me do something, all you have to do is tell me I can’t.

You can visit Marc’s MMO Blog and watch his progress at www.onemansgoal.com. I’d personally like to thank Marc for allowing Emz Design to interview him – it’s been a pleasure.

Work Sites:

Mobile Bucket – This is a side work project which I work on inbetween major projects. As of yet I have only done a design in Photoshop that needs to be coded into HTML/CSS

A Winning Hand – Four designs were created for our client but no design has been chosen yet, therefore I haven’t coded it into HTML/CSS. I also designed a leaflet which went out to their client database.

Major Recruitment – This site is now complete. Visit at: www.major-recruitment.co.uk

Any more tasks:

Travel Kandi – Implementing a design on to Travel Kandi. This had previously been done but their social engine script was updated along with php functions etc. so the design needed to be implemented again. Visit at: www.travelkandi.com.

MPeople Recruitment – Design of MPeople Recruitment website. MPeople are a part of our previous client Major Recruitment. Their design is to be similar to the Major Recruitment website but different colour scheme and functionality. The design has been created and is in the coding process.

Secret Project – Only a secret because content of that nature I do not want on my portfolio. But let’s just say it’s a huge project which has taken up most of my work time and part of my free time. This site should be finished by the end of the week.

Personal Work

Due to lack of time I only managed to work a select hours on my personal work, but hopefully it’ll be complete in a few weeks.

I decided to set myself targets for each month on what I should acheive design-wise. I often get ideas into my head on how I want certain sites to look, or how I should really finish off / re-design something and then completely forget / not have time to do so.

Setting myself targets should, hopefully, encourage myself to get certain things done. So with that, this months targets are:

Work Sites:

Mobile Bucket – An affiliated site that sells Mobile Phones and Insurance. The aim is to get a design complete and coded into HTML by the end of the month.

A Winning Hand – A Poker site that a client of ours wants to have re-designed. The aim is to design a new layout and code it into HTML by the end of the month.

Major Recruitment – A jobs board for recruiters to post jobs and jobseekers to register CVs. This site is almost complete, the aim now is to just upload to the correct domain and do all testing to make sure site works correctly.

Any more work that comes in in the mean time.

Personal Sites:

Bauer Online – A site for the band, Bauer, who are releasing a single this month. I’m hoping to design a new layout for their site in time for the release.

Let’s hope I can stick to these targets
