About

Hola! My name is Emma and I am 25 years old.

Let’s start with a little Emz Design history. I originally bought this domain in 2004 to host an online portfolio of my web design work. It wasn’t until recently that I decided to change the whole structure of the site to become a Web Design Blog.

I became inspired to do this because I had recently stumbled onto MMO (Make Money Online) Blogs and I thought, considering I live and breathe web design, I could setup a blog about web design to earn a little extra money myself.

That being said, I still have a page for my web design portfolio which will include more personal work than my full-time-job work. It didn’t feel right destroying my web design portfolio with a blog dedicated to web design without leaving a little room for some of my work.

My Web Design History
I started teaching myself HTML when I was 14 years old when I created a fan site for my favourite band, No Doubt. It was initially a hobby but after a couple of years of doing it I realised I could do it as a profession. I studied IT at college for 4 years after leaving school, but unfortunately that left me with very little acknowledgement of my web design skills. Luckily employees go off your web design portfolio and not your qualifications and I landed myself my first full time job as “Junior Web Designer” in 2003.

Five years later and I’m now working at Enjoy Online (Web Design Manchester) as “Senior Web Designer” and “Company Secretary”. It’s a small business consisting of myself and my partner (in life and business ;)) but we’re both skilled in web design and web development and because of that have scored some major projects over the last few months.

What are my goals for Emz Design?
At the moment all I am aiming for is to earn a little extra money a month via adsense/affiliates. The whole genre of the site at the moment is purely Web Design, but I am interested in the people behind MMO blogs so there’ll be interviews with those bloggers over the next few months, and I’ll be putting some of their MMO schemes to the test. If I am successful in earning money via this site then this site will grow to be a MMO blog as well as a Web Design Blog.

Because I work full time this venture is only something I’m going to be able to put 50% of my spare time into. That being said, I’m always doing a little bit of SEO behind-the-scenes to try and push my site further into the search engines.
