My first impressions of the Perimetec website are that this site is professional, attractive, and down-right straight-to-the-point. I immediately knew what this site was about and what it had to offer, and above all, I wanted to stay on the site and read more about their products.

If you need Email Spam Protection, this site and company are worth a visit. Their email protection service costs only $2.50 a month which is a very impressive price.

Their products include Barracuda Spam Firewall, Barracuda Web Filter, Barracuda IM Firewall, Barracuda Load Balancer, Barracuda Message Archiver, and Barracuda Web Application Controllers.

Of the Barracuda Spam Firewall, Perimetec say “Equipped with twelve layers of defensive protection, The Barracuda Spam Firewall provides industry-leading anti spam security. It incorporates both hardware and software solutions and is specifically designed to arm your email server against viruses, spam, phishing, spoofing and spyware attacks.”

Impressive.

Perimetec services include the Email Spam Blocker – protect your mailbox from $2.50 using their Silver, Gold or Platinum packages. They also offer a webmail solution if your company doesn’t host its own email.

Looking at the recognisable logo’s that this company has protected, it’s clear that this is a reputable and professional company to choose if you need to protect your email from spam. Nintendo, Comcast, Fedex to name but a few.

If you’re undecided about choosing Permietec, they also off a Free Trial.

With a professional and impressive website and famous clients, I think it’s fair to say that Perimetec should be given consideration when it comes to Anti Spam Filtering Services.

Top Commenters – Are you on top?
Posted on 5 September 2008

As you may know, I’ve recently changed the theme of Emz Design, and with that I lost the Top Commenters widget. You will pleased to know that the Top Commenters widget is now back!

Why is this good for you?
Basically, if you’re a Top Ten Commenter for the current month, your name with a link to your site is placed in the sidebar of this site. The sidebar is on every page of this site, so effectively your link is added to 50+ pages and posts just by leaving a comment here and there.

PR from each of these pages will be leaked to your site which will help you gain a higher PR.

Great! Anymore sites like these?
Yes! After browsing Thou Shall Blog I noticed a page that has an entire list of blogs with the Top Commenters widget. Visit this page: The Best Places to Get Quality Backlink to view this list.

But don’t visit there until you’ve commented a little here ;)

Where can I download the Top Commenters Plugin?
You can download the plugin here: Top Commenters Plugin.

Once you’ve installed the plugin you have to apply a bit of code to your sidebar (or wherever you want to place it). This code is here:

<?php if(function_exists('ns_show_top_commentators')) { ?>
<li>
<ul><?php ns_show_top_commentators(); ?></ul>
</li>
<?php } ?>

All you need to do is Copy and Paste that into your sidebar and it will work.

Upgrading WordPress Plugin
Posted on 4 September 2008

Recently the company I work for have taken over the running of a blog. The blog hadn’t been updated since last April, and the version it was running on was a very old version.

I was tasked with upgrading the blog to the current version and I wanted to do it quickly and efficiently.

After surfing the Internet I came accross a great plugin that upgrades wordpress for you.

Download “WordPress Automatic Upgrade”.

When running this plugin please be aware that it creates a backup folder in your root directory called “wpau-backup” which is accessible for writing to. You may want to rename this folder and change the permissions to 444, or you can delete it (I’d advise you download a copy before doing this).

All in all though, this plugin allowed me to upgrade wordpress automatically within 5 minutes, and it will alert me when a new version of wordpress is available, to which it will upgrade automatically too.
